Have you ever had that feeling of “what am I doing with my life?” That deep itching feeling that you knew you were meant for a great purpose but you feel disconnected with your creativity and your passion?

This is where I found myself after 25 years in education, science, and academia. While I loved the work I did and I love learning, I didn’t have that drive or deep connection to my work to move me forward onto the next leg in my journey…luckily, the news of a baby on the way shifted my purpose: to consume myself in motherhood.

Fast forward 5 years and two pregnancies, I am an elated mother of two fantastically unique daughters who have taught me a thing or two about education. I’ve realized that, in a traditional education system (as I had succumbed to and excelled in for many years), I lost touch with my creativity and my passion. And through the eyes of my children, I found those two very things I thought I didn’t have anymore, they were buried within me. I knew in my heart that I have to pursue my education and, more importantly, the education of my children in a brand new way. In their way. Following and nurturing their creativity and natural curiosity.

The Frolicking Tree was born out of my love for and expertise in subjects related to nature - botany, wildlife biology, entomology, microbiology, and more - and my mission to help parents across the globe raise a generation of creative, compassionate problem-solvers and lifelong learners.

Our Manifesto:

We believe parents can identify, encourage, and inspire a child’s curiosity of the natural world to develop self-motivated, passionate learners.

We believe science education is as simple as following our observations and asking better questions.

We believe lifelong health and growth stems from developing compassionate relationships with people and the natural world.

We believe high-quality, self-motivated education is the most important tool to move society towards more harmonious and sustainable living.

I would love for you to be a part of this movement and to help you follow and nurture your child’s creativity and curiosity through child-led nature exploration.
